History of the site

Located in Brisbane’s Spring Hill, the Lady Bowen Complex is a heritage-listed site, dating back to the late 1800s.

This site has enjoyed a fascinating history, as a maternity hospital in the 1890s, Nurses’ Quarters in the 1920s and later, a centre for recovering soldiers after the Second World War.

For over a century, it has been a place for people to regain their strength and recover from trauma or circumstance.
