Her Excellency Governor of Queensland, Ms Penelope Wensley AO, is the Patron of the Lady Bowen Trust.

Ms Wensley shares Lady Bowen's civic mindedness and has a strong commitment to social welfare, human rights and humanitarian and environmental issues.

Like Lady Bowen, Ms Wensley has played a significant role on the world stage, and has extensive international experience. As a result, she brings an important global perspective to the role of Governor of Queensland.

Ms Wensley's extensive diplomatic career has seen her represent Australia at the highest levels and with distinction. Ms Wensley was appointed an officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2001 for her service to the development of Australia's international relations.

Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC, Governor-General of Australia, served as the inaugural patron of the Lady Bowen Trust from November 2006 to July 2008, in her capacity as Governor of Queensland during this period.
